Open Data

JMG responded to the government's initiative to implement open data in order to improve the quality and transparency of government services by sharing relevant data in a fast and appropriate manner.

This page is created for the purpose of presenting data sets that may be shared and re-used by members, the public or the private sectors. Open data refers to data from the government that can be freely used, shared, and reused and acts as a driving force in people-oriented government initiatives. The implementation of open data can improve the quality and transparency of government service delivery through accurate, fast and relevant data sharing.

Besides increasing productivity and economy, involving people and trade communities can lead to new industries and innovations. The Public Sector Open Data Portal (DTSA), data.gov.my, was developed in 2014 and has received international Open Data recognition. The DTSA portal effectively centralizes government data from official sources, providing easy and direct access.
